So, tomorrow Katelyn is turning 6 months!!! I know that a lot of women stop breastfeeding, for one reason or another, by 6 months. But I was curious to see the numbers.
The CDC has a chart broken down by each state, and I have to say that I found it very interesting!!! I wonder what makes each state so different that the numbers fluctuate by location.
For example, the chart says that 92.8% of women in Utah have "ever breastfed" while in Mississippi only 48.3% have "ever breastfed."
The chart breaks down into five categories: % who have ever breastfed, % breastfeeding at 6 months, % breastfeeding at 12 months, % exclusively breastfeeding at 3 months, and % exclusively breastfeeding at 6 months.
If you have time, take a look at the chart. I am happy to say I am in the 14.8% of women in Georgia who exclusively breastfeed at 6 months!!!
How about you....where percentage do you fall in?
